Cabane à Sucre Street Festival is back promising a celebratory, gastronomic program and an unforgettable experience! Verdun’s rue Wellington will be transforming into a lumberjack haven. Its a free maple festival to enjoy a first big breath of springtime air!

March Maple season is the ideal time to tap the maple trees and extract its sap. The sap then gets transformed into maple syrup.
Quebec produces 90% of the world’s maple syrup. We have many maple farms and the process of making maple syrup is one that is celebrated in Quebec!

Every March, EC Montreal dedicates its entire calendar of events to maple syrup. Traditional Cabane à Sucre meal which consists of sausage, ham, eggs, beans, meat pie, pickled beets, boiled potatoes, pancakes, maple pie just say it is tradition and an acquired taste!

The traditional event features square dancing, log-throwing, two-man saws, six francophone concerts, and of course, a maple syrup feast. Sugary treats and meals include maple taffy, sugar pies, pancakes with syrup (obviously), snow taffy, candied bacon, maple-smoked pogos, Irish stew, waffles, croissants, and of course, maple-based cocktails.

Enjoy the food and festivities featuring woodcutting, traditional dances, delicious sugary desserts, and square dancing. The festival will have some great folk music as well as a lot of fun activities to enjoy. There will be a photo booth station as well as a group folklore dance.
