Just for Laughs: Gags (in French, Juste pour rire: Les Gags) is a Canadian silent comedy with hidden camera reality television show that is under the Just for Laughs brand. Just for Laughs was founded in 1983 by Gilbert Rozon as a two-day French-language event.
Founded in 1983, the Groupe Juste pour rire handles the festival’s development and several other aspects: TV productions, shows and artist management.
In 1985, introduced English-language events as well the festival increased to a full month, with French-speaking performers during the first half, and English speakers in the second half.
International and non-verbal acts (acrobats, pantomimes, etc.) are scattered throughout the program. It’s a gathering not to be missed for comedians and comedy-lovers alike!
With performances in both English and French brings together some 1,700 artists from 19 countries. Just for laughs comedians cast few talents to name like Wanda Sykes, Blake Griffin, Nick Kroll, Fred Armisen, Ronny Chieng, Shaun Majumder, Steve O, She The People, Jeff Ross’s and many more.
The festival’s goal is to make people happy! The Festival invites you to celebrate its 37th anniversary. It also contributes to presenting many side events, shows and festivals, including the Zoofest comedy festival, the Mondial des Jeux gaming festival, and Bouffons Montréal, the largest open-air gastronomy village in North America. Every summer, the big names in comedy gather in Montréal for shows and special events.
